ASSESSMENT NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Appeal and Equalization of City of Ellsworth in Nobles County, Minnesota, will meet at the Ellsworth City Hall, at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, May I st, 2024 for the purpose of reviewing and correcting the assessment of said City for the year 2024. All persons considering themselves aggrieved by said assessment, or who wish to appeal that the property of another is assessed too low, are hereby notified to appear at said meeting, and show cause of having such assessment corrected.

No appeal that another person is assessed too low will be acted upon until the person so assessed, or the agent, shall have been notified of such appeal.

Update on 2nd phase of THE New Community Center & Fitness ROOM

The Community room/ fitness room bid was considerably higher than anticipated. We need your help to complete this project. We are at 80%. Will you help reach our goal? FARMERS you can donate a portion of your harvest at the New Vision Elevator in Ellsworth. Let the elevator know that your donation will be going to the City of Ellsworth for the Ellsworth Multi-Purpose project. You will be sent a tax form after payment has been recieved by the Southwest Initiative Foundation.

Sump Pump Discharge Notice:  Any resident with sump pumps draining their water into the sanitary sewer line and NOT disposing it properly out into the storm sewer drains on the street, may be guilty of a misdemeanor and fined up to $700 dollars or jail time. City Ordinance 910.07 Use of Public Services, Subd. 1, Unpolluted Waters.

The City of Ellsworth will be holding the appliance pickup on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.

FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE!

Cost for all the above, EXCEPT the Printer, is $25.00 dollars per item. Printers are $10.00 per item.

TVs & Computer Screens are $35.00.

 

You will need to pre-pay for your pickup. All items will need to be set out by the front curb by 7:30AM on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, or it will not get picked up. If you fail to pre-pay, it will NOT get picked up either. Schaap Sanitation will be picking these items up. The city does not make any money from this. It is a service provided to you. Please pay by Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, by 4:30PM at the City Clerk’s Office.

The Residential Spring City Wide Clean-Up will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.

 

Schaap Sanitation will be doing the annual City Clean up one day only.

This day will be on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. (Same day as pre-paid Appliance Pick up).  Items will need to be set out on the curb (NOT IN THE ALLEY) by 7:30AM or it will NOT be picked up.  They only go down a street one time.  If it is not set out when they go by, it will NOT get picked up.

No appliances, toxic or hazardous wastes, tires, batteries, cement, bricks, oil, fluorescent bulbs etc.  Also, NO OUT OF TOWN JUNK is allowed or commercial clean up.

Items that can be thrown in the garbage include:  Shredders, Vacuum Cleaners, Blenders, Mixers, and Humidifiers. 

Empty card board boxes will NOT be picked up while cleanup is going on.  Please put these items in your recycling.  Thank you for your cooperation.

NO clean out of homes.  NO major remodeling projects. 2024

The next regular city council meeting will be held on Monday, February 12th, 2024, at 7:00PM in the Ellsworth City Hall Council Chambers.
